Modern manufacturing plants collect enormous amounts of information each day. The difficult part has been managing that information flow, and more importantly, making better use of that information flow to affect change within the plant. The promise of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) is the ability to use modern data management and storage tools to deliver actionable data to workers at all levels of the plant when they need it.
How can that be accomplished? That question will be answered on Thursday, June 2 at 2 p.m. EST as Control Engineering, Oil & Gas Engineering and Plant Engineering present the second of four Webcasts in 2016 on IIoT. The June 2 Webcast, Information Management for IIoT, will be presented by Sal Spada, research director for ARC Advisory Group.

Presenter: Sal Spada, Research Director, ARC Advisory Group
Presenter Bio:
Sal Spada is part of the Discrete Automation team at ARC. His responsibilities include studies in the Worldwide CNC, North American general motion control, and servo drive markets. He has more than 15 years direct experience in motion control system design as a software developer, project manager, and product marketing manager. In the area of Computer Numerical Control (CNC), his concentration has been in implementing high speed contouring algorithms in vertical milling applications for five axis machine geometries. Spada has been with ARC since 1997. He holds both a B.S. and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts with a concentration in Adaptive Control Systems. He also holds an M.B.A. from Babson College.
