IIoT Webcast One: Get your head into the cloud

Webcast One: Get your head into the cloud

Thursday, April 13, 2017, 11 a.m. PT/1 p.m. CT/2 p.m. ET/7 p.m. GMT
One (1) Certified Professional Development Hour (PDH) available for all attendees.

Automation technologies are converging with information technologies. To handle growing volumes of data generated by IIoT-enabled devices, companies will need powerful data processing capability. Cloud-based environments transform how process-automation projects are engineered and instantiated, replacing client/server. This Webcast focuses on how emergent IIoT technologies change the way process and automation engineers execute projects and sustain productivity in today’s, and tomorrow’s, cyber-physical world.

Learning Objectives:

  • Gain familiarity with engineering vocabulary related to industrial Cloud and IIoT
  • Discover how IT-based standards are changing the automation world
  • Examine user case examples of IIoT and the Cloud

Featured Speakers:

Arlen Nipper, co-founder and President/CTO, Cirrus Link Solutions

Arlen Nipper has been designing embedded computer hardware, software and solutions for 39 years. Arlen graduated from Oklahoma State University and worked in the oil patch for 10 years learning tons of useful stuff about “how things work” in the real world. The next part of Arlen’s career path led to signing up with a startup technology company called NovaTech providing design and integration services using embedded computer technology. NovaTech was a successful startup and became Arcom Control System and then Eurotech Inc. over the last 20 years. Arlen was the President and CTO of these OEM computer-manufacturing and software solutions companies. Arlen is now the co-founder and President/CTO of Cirrus Link Solutions.

Josh Stauffer, Lead Engineer, Panacea Technologies

Josh Stauffer is a Lead Engineer for Panacea Technologies. Early in his career Josh showed an obvious passion and refined skillset for data Historization and Reporting, Network Security, and Virtualization. This has led Josh to be the lead for most Chemometric, IIoT, and Cloud based deployments both for Panacea’s clients and internal to Panacea as well. He has developed numerous custom software platforms, and is sought out for difficult to solve networking, data, and virtualization projects. Josh’s specialty is bridging the gap between the pie in the sky IIoT marketing buzz and deployable solutions for clients. He holds a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering with a Minor in Electrical Engineering from Lehigh University.
