Current issues in IIoT wireless technologies

One (1) Certified Professional Development Hour (PDH) available for all attendees.

One of the most challenging aspects of an IIoT implementation process is deciding on wireless technologies for an IIoT network. The challenge is complicated by the fact that no single wireless technology will likely meet all the demands of an IIoT strategy.

The complexity introduced by having to choose between multiple wireless technologies has understandably bred a lot of confusion in the market. A broad understanding of the various IIoT-relevant wireless technologies, why there are so many, and the needs of the application being implemented can help.

Wireless standards relevant to the IIoT are either standards-based, such as cellular variants, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, or proprietary. Make sure the options involved are clearly understood.

An additional presentation will examine how application needs can impact architecture choices regarding edge, fog and cloud computing.

Tune into this webcast to learn more.

Learning objectives:

  • How edge computing and gateway functions are evolving
  • Understand 5G’s impact on IIoT
  • Explore Computational, networking and storage functions, from edge to cloud.
